The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Lula Smith can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Mom

How can I begin to express my Love and Thanks for all that Mom did for me?  She did all those things that regular Moms do, but she went far beyond what one would expect.  My Mom never sat around and watched TV or talked on the telephone, she was always working, cooking, washing clothes, helping with our school work, or loads of other things.  I can not say that I ever saw her rest, unless she was sick.  She never turned me down when I ask to bring a friend to stay at the house with me, or just to have someone over to eat.  She always made it a special point to make my friends welcome, and served up the best food in all of Great Bridge.  She never failed to fill any request I made, even when I forgot to tell her until the last minute.  She was a stickler for detail, and instilled in me that a job or task worth doing, was worth doing right, and to the best of my ability.  Mom was smartest person I knew growing up.  I remember when I would bring my report card home ( with my B's and C's) Mom would always say, "I don't know why you have trouble with those subjects, I never did", and I would always say, Mom, you didn't have trouble with any classes, you got all A's.  Mom took care of me whenever and wherever  needed it.  I know I never Thanked for all she did, but she knew I appreciated all her help and Love.  I hope that now as she looks down from above, that I can make her proud, and if I do, it will be a reflection of what she gave me to be good person who works hard and helps others   I LOVE YOU MOM,  MARTIN.
