Graham Funeral Home

The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of John Guirkins can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Not Just an Uncle

Carpenter, Fireman, Battalion Chief, Uncle.

Not just an uncle, always a dear friend. Sharing a special friendship that will be always treasured. You taught me patience when you let me help you build beautiful, useful, enjoyable things from wood. You demonstrated your amazing memory, never writing down a single measurement. Remembering each one as needed. All this you did after you could no longer see. What an amazing and wonderful experience to have shared with you. Thank you for caring and sharing these things with me.

Through all the struggles of the past few years you showed your courage and strength. Faced with blindness, rheumatoid arthritis, severe back and shoulder pain, you showed me that wonderful, mischievous sense of humor that never failed to cheer me up. Often sharing your memories of when I was a little skinny girl with pencil stick legs and shorts flapping in the wind.

You will always be a special part of me that I can only hope and pray to emulate.

Thank you and bless you for all that you shared and know how grateful I am to have had the time to be with you.

Please watch over we who love you and continue to guide us as we grieve your absence from us and wait for the time we will all be together again.
