Mule and cart

I am John's niece. .......well a long long time ago, his little sister,  Kay,  and I  were riding in the old cart, with the old mule , while he loaded lumber of some sort , into the cart. He told us to be still , but you know kids- they can never be still. I don't know which of  us rattled the lumber, or what we did to make noise, but that old mule took off down the hill, lumber rattling and us screeming, but John took off running after that old muleand cart , and he actually caught up with us and stopped the old girl. Of course we got the tongue lashing we so deserved. He was so scared it's a wonder we didn't get a thrashing, I'm sure he felt like it , but didn't. Now that  is true tale I and my aunt Kay, will never forget.  loving memories .                                                                    Barbara Elliott Batchler
