Obituary for Zenas Warren Hopkins, Jr.

Zenas Warren Hopkins, Jr.
In normal dramatic fashion, Zenas Warren Hopkins, Jr., 78, left his earthly body in the middle of a blizzard on January 4, 2018 with his wife and grandson by his side. Zenas was born on December 13, 1939 in Norfolk, Virginia to the late Zenas Hopkins, Sr. and Lillie Mae Hopkins. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his best friend, H. J. Rust. Zenas spent most of his life in the wholesale food industry and ended his career with ownership of a Murray's/Famous Amos Cookie franchise.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 44 years, Linda Holt Hopkins; daughter Natalie "Nippa"; grandson, Sterling "Z3"; best friend Sylvia Ellis (Rust); and adopted family, Johnny, Christine, Dominick, and Tyler Outlaw. The family would like to give a special thanks to the medical staff at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center for their patient and tender care during his numerous hospital stays of late.

A Memorial Reception will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 2 pm at his home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Norview High School Alumni Association. Arrangements are being cared for by Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1112 Kempsville Rd, Chesapeake. Please visit www.grahamfuneralhome.com to leave a note to the family.
