The first time I met George (Heybub) was a few months after my husband and I started dating. We traveled down to Virginia to spend time with his friends and family. It was less than 24 hours after I had met Heybub and Nic and I were sitting in his grandparent's living room talking to one another when Heybub leaned forward in his chair and asked the two of us "So what are your plans?" Nic and I began to say that we were going to meet up with friends over the next few days when Heybub interupted and said "No - what are your plans for the future? When are you getting married?" Nic and I looked at eachother in shock and Heybub continued on about how a professor had told him that if you find a woman who is both smart and beautiful then marry her and how he thought I was that and that we should get married. I come from a large family and have met very straightforward people up to that point but nothing prepared me for that question from Heybub!

I chuckle everytime I think back to this memory because this was a very Heybub thing to do. He was such a straight forward and caring soul. And a wise man!
