Fran and the Logans

My heart is heavily grieved to hear of the passing of Francis Picot. She was a beloved friend. When Jim and I first came to Covenant Presbyterian Church more than 30 years ago, it was of course Jim's first pastorate and my first experience as a pastor's wife, needless to say, we had no idea what to expect. There were many who cared for us, but it was Fran who took us under her wing and gave us a home away from home. She cared for us, offered great advice and allowed Jim, Jaime and myself to become family to her Candi, "Tiny" and Carter. When things got tough for me in the church, she availed herself as a mother. When I couldn't get to my own parents in NJ, Fran's home was my refuge. She would feed us, provide herself as a babysitter, confidant and prayer partner. What I loved most about Fran was her genuine personality lively attitude. She openly shared stories of her life in W. Virginia and how she came to Chesapeake. I loved her dearly.

To Candi, Alexis and the family, I extend my deepest condolences and sympathies in the death of your beloved mother and grandmother. Regretfully, I am unable to attend the services on Monday due to my new position as a flight attendant. My heart and prayers are with you today and as you mourn her earthly absence. It is my hope that you would begin to celebrate her life and find solace knowing that Fran is indeed spending eternity with our Father God. She has served him well and ihas found eternal rest.

Respectfully,

Valari Knight Logan - 980-298-3430
