I remember how welcoming Richard and Norma were to invite us to their home to watch the South Norfolk 4th of July Parade.  It was great food and he was tellign us to eat.  He had such a life about him. He was very proud of his children and his carrer both with the Navy and the Gas company. 

He was very interested in Michelle and I because we were still on active duty, and were we Navy Chiefs.  He was a great man and I admired. 

He had such great stores about his career and it was such a pleasure to talk to him.  He was a great man and will always be a Navy Chief.  I am proud to be associated in the same class as him; The Chiefs mess will miss you.  Sleep well Chief you will not be forgotten.  It was an honor to be in the Chiefs mess with you.
