She was born on September 13, 1926 to the late Thomas and Myrtle Weese of Beverly, West Virginia and was raised there with 9 other siblings. Her mother died when Anna was 17. Anna and her older sister, Maxine, helped raise their 6 younger brothers after their mother passed away. She graduated from high school as salutatorian and then went to work for CandP Telephone Company in Elkins, West Virginia. She retired after 42 years from the company which eventually became ATandT. She met her husband of 69 years, Kenneth H. Louk, at a square dance in West Virginia and they married in Norfolk, Virginia on July 29, 1948. She was a dedicated member of Colonial Baptist Church in Virginia Beach and a faithful supporter of Virginia Beach Theological Seminary.
