Norfolk - Virginia Spruill Lassiter McLawhorn, 93, formerly of the 3000 block of Justis Street, VA Beach, VA and recently resided at Leigh Hall Assisted Living in Norfolk, VA went to be with the Lord on December 31, 2016. A native of Plymouth, NC, she was the daughter of Cortis and Ida Spruill. She was a member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church.

She is predeceased by her husbands, William A. Lassiter, Sr and James H. McLawhorn and is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William and Penny Lassiter; a grandson, William J. Lassiter and wife, Kim; granddaughter, Denise Whittler and her husband, Tim; great grandchildren, Kayla and Miranda Lassiter, Emma and William Jennings, and Kayla and Isabelle Whittler, all of Chesapeake, VA.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake. A service to celebrate her life will follow at 11 a.m. She will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
