A True Friend

I recall when I moved my family to the Rock Creek section of Va.Beach, Va. and I wondered just who I was going to be able to find as a "Friendly Neighbor."

Well it did not take long before I found Ken Ghormley and his lovely family who lived in the same court as I did. There was no need for me even question the character of the man because I noticed it in his wife and children as well. They we all very friendly and respectful to everyone.

I recall when I became ill and had to go into the hospital for a few days. Of course, being a man, I did not want anyone to know. I wanted show that "I could handle things." Well the fact of the matter was that I could not at that point in time.

When I arrived home from the hospital Ken Ghormley and another neighbor were cutting my lawn and trimming the edges as well! I asked, "What are you doing?" Ken repiled, "I am doing what you can't do, so go into the house until you get better so I don't have to do it all summer!" Then he laughed!

Ken Ghormley did this and more. He was a man I could talk to and he was a "True Friend."

May God Bless the Family,
