Condolence: To all that have visited this sight and spoken so highly of my mother, I thank you from the bottom of my heart, she loved you all. As many of you have lost loved ones, I am sure you know that losing a parent is the hardest. It leaves a hole in your heart that can never be repaired. We must now hold our heads high and move on to the be the best we can be in her honor. I hope she knows the impression she left on us all and is continuing to be the angel that we all knew and loved.

Condolence: Dear Gary, Anita and Aaron.
I was heartbroken to hear of Rita's sudden passing. Being Anita's best friend in high school, I have very vivid memories of being a part of your family. To this day, I'll never forget coming back up to the house from the creek, cigarette smoke certainly still bellowing from our hair and clothes and Rita asking ME if we had been smoking. My knee jerk reaction was to deny it. She didn't buy it. Asked me again, I panicked and swore on the Bible. She still didn't buy it, we were busted and I was so embarrassed for going to such lengths to not get in trouble. She forgave me but not without the occasional grin and question, "swear on the Bible?" Thats just one of many memories but one in which Rita taught me a life lesson.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Condolence: Dear Gary and Family,

Beverly and I were very sorry to hear of your loved one's passing. Having worked with Rita for many years, I for one knew how dedicated she was as a school bus driver in doing everything possible to ensure that the students she transported over the years were safe while in her charge. She was respected by the children she transported, their parents and her coworkers.

On a personal note, she supported me at a stressful time when I first took on the responsibilities of Director of Pupil Transportation for Chesapeake Public Schools. That support was and has never been forgotten.

May peace be with you during this trying time and in the days to come.

Sincerely,

Don and Beverly Travitz
