Obituary for Nancy Figuero Miranda

Nancy Figuero Miranda
NORFOLK-Nancy Figuero Miranda returned to her heavenly home on May 10, 2016 after a valiant battle with PSP(Progressive Supranuclear Palsy). Her devotion to family and firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace.

Nancy was born to the late Julian and Feliza Figuero on June 4, 1946. She was immersed in her Faith and culture and had a passion for dancing. She graduated in 1968 at Philippine Normal College, now called Philippine Normal University. She was an educator at heart and her love of dancing would lead her to be a dance instructor at the Philippine Cultural Center in Virginia Beach where she taught several different cultural dances. She also had a passion for sewing. She would sew many of the costumes that were needed for performances and would be up all night until they were all done. Her smile was contagious and she was always willing to lend a helping hand. Nancy was blessed with a loving family and is dearly missed by her loved ones, who celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her creator.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Teodolfo; her daughters Annaliza Santella and Aileen Joyner; her grandchildren Leialyn Zafra, Keiana Zafra, Kaelan Santella and Jada Joyner; her brother, Zosimo T. Figuero and sister Felicitas F. Quevedo. She has joined her parents and brother, Sergio T. Figuero in our Lord’s house.

A memorial service will be held to honor and celebrate her life at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Rd, Chesapeake, VA 23320 at 6:30p.m. on Friday May 20th, with a reception to follow.
