Sylvia Ann  Swiger
CHESAPEAKE-Sylvia Ann Swiger, 88, passed away on September 10, 2014. She was born in Kegley, West Virginia to the late Walter and Lillie Gunter. Sylvia was predeceased by her son, Jackie Ray Bergara. She was a lifetime member of Welcome Baptist Church. Sylvia also frequently attended the “Niner’s Club” at South Norfolk Rec. Center. She enjoyed crafting, traveling but most of all, she loved her family.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving children, Marjil Bergara (Sandra), Sylvia “Brenda” Machado (Ronnald), Kareen Spruill, and Regina Simpkins; 9 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 6 great great-grandchildren; 2 great great great-grandchildren; special friends, Don Holbert and Phyllis; and numerous other family and friends.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11am at Graham Funeral Home, Chesapeake on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 with Pastor David Crawford officiating. Burial will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 to 7:30pm.
