I spent a great deal of time at Susan's as a teenager. She was another mother for me during high school and we had many conversations about life choices over steak and eggs. The thing that I will always remember about her, is that she had a wonderful way of boosting self esteem. I was in a funk over some guy on graduation night and Sue be pulled out her secret stash of southern comfort for just her and I. While I didn't be live her at the time, she told me that have always been cute, but she knows that as an adult I will be beautiful. Now whenever I am complimented by my looks, I always think back to our secret soco conversation. While the compliments are nice, they never match up the uplifting feeling that she gave me that day. I'm saddened by the loss of Susan and saddened that I never told her how much she has shaped me into the woman I am today.
