CHESAPEAKE—Mamie Bell High Query, 82, of the 1900 block of Chesapeake Avenue went to rest with God on December 12, 2006. A native of Sims, NC, she was the daughter of the late Lemick and Leila High and the widow of Leo F. Query, Sr.

She is survived by two daughters, Gloria Marie Query of Chesapeake and Denise Yvonne Query of Virginia Beach; her special sweetheart, Joe Meravy; one stepson, Norman Query of Portsmouth; four grandchildren, Melanie Coker, Jason Wilson, Dustin Carver and Wendy Payne; two great grandchildren, Ashleigh-Lynn and Matthew; and two sisters, Gladys Burgess and Cleo Boykin, both of Sims, NC.



A graveside service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Portsmouth. The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home, Greenbrier Chapel on Thursday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 5524 Virginia Beach Boulevard, Norfolk, VA 23502.
