VIRGINIA Beach-Wanda Lee Ballentine Uhlenbrock, 53, entered into Eternal Rest on May 20, 2009, in her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Norfolk, she was the daughter of Mrs. Katherine V. Gaskins Ballentine and the late Earl W. Ballentine.

She was a 1974 graduate of Floyd E. Kellam High School, Virginia Beach. She served our local legal community for over 30 years, and recently retired as Firm Administrator from The Rack Law Firm, P.C. She enjoyed many good and memorable years at Seawell, Dalton, Hughes & Timms, and at Huff, Poole & Mahoney, P.C., making lifelong friends along the way. She was always a loyal and dedicated employee who held herself to a very high work ethic. She enjoyed baking, gardening, creating gifts for others, traveling, and learning from those special people in her life. She especially enjoyed being with her family. Her life was a model of quiet Christian faith, integrity, and selflessness.

Wanda was a devoted wife to her husband of 19 years, Samuel J. Uhlenbrock, a loving mother to her daughter, Allyn K. Sullivan and husband John, and Grandma to her very precious grandson, Miles, whom she totally adored, and a caring daughter to her mother, Mrs. Katherine V. Gaskins Ballentine. She is also survived by a brother, Glenn N. Ballentine and wife Nancy, of Palmdale, CA, and a sister, Donna S. Curling and husband Mark, of Virginia Beach, two nephews, one niece and one grandniece.

She was an active and dedicated member of New Hope Christian Fellowship, a former member of The Association of Legal Administrators, and a member of the Christian Motorcyclists Association, where she served alongside her husband, Sam, as Area Reps for Southeastern Virginia.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Munir Nasr, M.D., Lisa Everitt, P.A. and his entire staff at Virginia Oncology Associates for their continuous loving care and support to her and our family during her illness, as well as her very caring Hospice nurse, Mel Gregg.

The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Road, Greenbrier Chapel, Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. A celebration of WandaÂ’s life will be held at New Hope Christian Fellowship, 5045 Indian River Road, Virginia Beach, on Saturday at 11 a.m., with Pastor Peter Daley officiating. Interment will be at Colonial Grove Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to New Hope Christian Fellowship. Please share a memory with the family at www.grahamfuneralhom.com.
