Obituary for Charles F. Steinman

Charles F. Steinman, 88, of Edgeware Court went home to be with his Lord June 7, 2018. He was reunited on the birthdate of his beloved wife of 62 years, Mrs. Johnnie Janett Steinman. Charles was born in Marlette, Michigan to the late Fred and Sarah Jane Eagle Steinman. Charles served his country in the United States Navy and was a veteran of the Korean War; Charles was a founding member and former worship leader at Freedom Baptist Church, was a quiet giver, professor of history and terrific teacher. Charles was the owner and operator of C. F. Steinman and Son Construction Corp. and had built many homes in the Great Bridge section of Chesapeake.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Sheila Ann Harrison (Ronald), Fred C. Steinman (Rhonda), and Pastor Daniel L. Steinman (Beatriz); his sisters, Laura Rourke and Iva Wallace; eight grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 18, 2018 at Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake from 6 to 7:30 p.m. A service to celebrate his life will be held June 19, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor William P. Weagner officiating. He will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk.
