Kathleen M. Arthur, 69, went home to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ on April 18, 2018. She was predeceased by her father, Harry A. Holleran and mother, Rose M. Costello (Holleran) Hartford.
Kathleen enjoyed being with her grandkids and was a doting, reliable sitter to them, over many years. Kathleen loved walking and did a huge amount of it over a lifetime. She was also an avid watcher of classic films, suspense movies, and nature programs. She enjoyed crossword puzzles daily, board games with the grandkids, and listening to music. She was an excellent typist and brilliant student in her youth.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughters, Kathie Anne Thomson and her husband, Jeffery Thomson, and Sarah Anne Marcella Arthur and her partner, Daniel Waters; grandchildren, Kylah Abigando, Derek Miller, Julian Arthur,Leanne Thomson, Peyton Waters, and Riley Thomson; sister, Patricia Madden and her husband, John; brothers, James Grevey, Donald Grevey, John Grevey and his wife, Suzanne, and Harold Hartford, III; her former husband, James P. Arthur; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her sister, Josephine V. Garrity; step-father, Harold H. Hartford; and former spouse and Sarah’s father, Paul E. Mitchell.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Grace River Church, 5045 Indian River Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23464. Please visit www.grahamfuneralhome.com to leave a condolence to the family.
