Obituary for Ronald L. Coffey

Ronald L.  Coffey
Ronald Lee Coffey, 79, went home to be with his Lord Jesus Christ, on March 5, 2018. Ron was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. He was the son of the late Clyde and Ruby Coffey. Ron was a member of Kempsville Baptist Church, loved his Sunday School Class and singing in the Choir. He also enjoyed board games, gardening, hunting, and being on the water with a fishing pole in his hand.

He is survived by his loving wife of almost 59 years, Ann Coffey; son, Rev. Patrick Coffey and wife Donna; daughter, Deborah Bays; grandchildren, Aaron Coffey and wife Sydney, Sarah Coffey, Allen Bays and wife Rachel, Courtney Thomas and husband Ryan; great-grandchildren, Lydia and Jackson Thomas; and brother-in-laws, Gary Kelley and wife Gerri, and Bill Newsome and wife Beth. He was preceded in death by his sister, Audrey Smith; and brother, Gary Coffey. Ron’s family would like to thank the staff of Virginia Oncology Associates and Virginia Beach General Hospital for their loving care of Ron.

A celebration of Ron’s life will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018 at 12 p.m. at Kempsville Baptist Church, 5204 Princess Anne Rd, Virginia Beach, with Dr. Kelly J. Burris officiating. Graveside service will follow at Princess Anne Memorial Park. The family will receive family and friends on Thursday, March 8, 2018 from 6:30-8 p.m. at Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1112 Kempsville Rd, Chesapeake.
