Obituary for Robert Lee Hoggard

Robert Lee  Hoggard
Robert Lee Hoggard, 87, of the 1300 block of Anne Ave. went to be with the Lord on February 7, 2018. A native of Bertie County, NC, he was one of 15 children born to the late Arthur E. and Bertha Bryant Hoggard. Robert was a Deacon of Southside Baptist Church and a member of Niners Senior Citizens Club of Chesapeake. He served in the U.S. Army's 7th Infantry Division in Korea and also served in Germany. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Robert retired with 45 years of dedicated service as a supervisor with U.S. Gypsum Co.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Faye H. Thompson Hoggard; daughters, Martha Bates (Hank) and Lisa Brickson (Eric); son, Herbie Hoggard (Diane); daughter-in-law, Hope Paquette (Andre); step-daughter, Mary Sarvis (Jeff); step-sons, Pete Thompson (Debbie), David Thompson (Kim) and Wayne Thompson (Carolyn); sisters, Sophie White (George) and Hilda Harden (Darvin); four grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Rebecca Hoggard and Elizabeth Hoggard; his son, Tony Hoggard; and grandson, Quinton Hoggard.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 12, 2018 from 5 pm to 6:30 pm at Graham Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1112 Kempsville Rd. Chesapeake. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 2 pm at Southside Baptist Church, 1200 Bainbridge Blvd. Chesapeake with Pastor Terry Riddle officiating.
