Corbitt B. Lawrence, Sr., 85, passed away February 1, 2018 at his home. Corbitt was born in Beaufort, NC to the late Maxwell and Velma Lawrence. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his first wife, Louise Lawrence and his brother, Kermitt M. Lawrence. Corbitt had a big heart, he was generous, well loved and just an overall wonderful person. He also attended Immanuel Baptist Church for many many years.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 33 years, Lauriee Tatem Lawrence; sons, Corbitt Lawrence, Jr and Steve Lawrence; sister, Iva L. DuFore; step-daughters, Peggy C. Lawrence, Vicki C. Brown and Marion C. Barton; step-sons, Lowell R. Chappell, Jr. and Max D. Chappell; 17 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 4, 2018 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake. A funeral service will be held Monday, February 5, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Dave Libengood officiating. He will be laid to rest at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens.
