Obituary for Mary Leesa Phillips
Mary Leesa Sawyer Phillips, 44, went to be with her Lord November 30, 2017. Leesa was the daughter of the late Linwood I. and Linda PcPherson Sawyer. She was also predeceased by her aunt, Nelda PcPherson Emert and uncles, Edgar Sawyer and Arthur Lee Sawyer. Leesa was a graduate of Great Bridge High School and James Madison University. She was an accountant and was employed at several local accounting firms over the years. Leesa was a member of Good Hope United Methodist Church.
Left to cherish her memory are her aunts, Lillian S. Burks, Dorothy S. Garis, Carolyn S. Gibbs and Diantha G. Sawyer; cousins, Dr. George C. Emert, Michael Sawyer, Kim Sawyer Colonna, David Sawyer and Mark Sawyer; special cousins, Delwyn "Del" Hutto and her husband, David; and Donna Fisher and her husband, Danny; as well as numerous other cousins and extended family.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Good Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Mark Christian officiating.
