Obituary for Wilbert Furlough

Wilbert Furlough, 91, passed away November 30, 2017. Wilbert was born in Franklin County, NC to the late Johnny A. and Mary Davenport Furlough Daugherty. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his first wife, Patsy R. Furlough. He served his country in the United States Army and was a veteran of WWII; Wilbert was a member of Raleigh Heights Baptist Church, served as a deacon and a member of the Friendly Men’s Sunday School Class; he was also a member of the South Norfolk Masonic Lodge #339, Scottish Rite Bodies and the Chesapeake Shrine Club. Wilbert retired as a Quality Assurance Specialist at the Naval Air Rework Facility.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Joyce Furlough; son, Jimmie Furlough (Jean); daughters, Mary Jo Brewer (Bobby), Sharon Woolard (Ted), and Patti Padgett; step-children, Tarra Sullivan (Ken), and Elliott Boyd (Becky); grandchildren, Jamie, Ray, Jennifer, Courtney, Jessica, Leslie, Cody and Kendall; and seven great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; siblings, Gerald Daugherty, Red Daugherty and Eloise Daugherty.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 3, 2017 from 5-7 at Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake. A service to celebrate his life will be held Monday, December 4, 2017 at 11 am at Raleigh Heights Baptist Church with Pastor Shannon Terhune officiating. He will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk.
