Norma Cruise  Neal
Norma Cruise Neal, 85, passed away October 20, 2017 after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. She is now at peace joining her beloved husband of 57 years, Abner Neal. Norma was a loving woman, had a kind and gentle soul and a quick wit who will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Jayne Gardner who loved her dearly and her husband, Michael who lovingly gave much of his time to help care for her; her loving granddaughter, Lauren Gardner; sister, Sarah Cruise; in-laws, J.B. Neal, Alene Cofer and Louise Knemeyer; and her dear friend, Rodger Midgette.
The family would like to thank everyone at Seniorcorp who helped care for Norma. We would especially like to thank Ms. Dorothy and Ms. Gail. How can words express our gratitude for the care and love you have given momma. You became more than caregivers, you became a part of our family. We would also like to thank everyone at Visiting Physicians and Grace Hospice for their loving care. Dr. Patterson, Stephanie, Heather, Gary and Aanyu you have all been so caring and compassionate not just for momma but for all of us.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 24. 2017 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Colonial Grove Memorial Park, 3445 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Heart Association.
