Obituary for Frontis Evans Cochran

Frontis Evans Cochran, Sr. passed away peacefully in his home on October 10, 2017 at the age of 92. Frontis was a bricklayer (burnt clay artist) for 38 years where his bricklaying skills are evident in many of the prominent buildings in Tidewater. He was a member of the Hickory Ruritan Club for over 25 years, where he won many awards for his BBQ. He was a founding member, and president, of the Mt. Pleasant Hardee's ROMEO club. Frontis loved to entertain people and tell jokes, and was an avid fisherman and gardener.

Frontis is survived by his wife of 73 years, Virginia Martin Cochran; his children, Evans Cochran (Karen), Cathy Talley (Bill Banks), Mary Brantley (David), and Beth Cochran (Bill Tiernan); grandchildren, Kirby Talley, Ryan Talley, Martin Cochran, Alyson Holliday, Kelly Robinson, and Kyle Cochran, and 5 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Jennifer Holliday.

A service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 12, 2017 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. The family would like to thank Frontis's caregivers; Kim, Robin (Rose), and Cheryl; as well as his buddy, Clyde.
