Frank William Duvall, Sr. 75, died peacefully in his sleep September 10, 2017 after a long illness. Frank was born in Norfolk to Wayne and Hazel Duvall. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Waynelle Davis. Frank graduated from Norview High School in 1960 and graduated from welding school in 1961. He worked at Norshipco (BAE) for 37 years, ALCOA (Howmet) for three years, and at SPSA for eight years before finally retiring. Frank was a member of Great Bridge Presbyterian Church. He loved devoting his time to the betterment of others by volunteering with the Red Cross, coaching his children in Recreation sports, and supporting the disaster relief efforts during Hurricane Hugo in 1989 and the Flood that impacted Franklin Co, Virginia in 1999. Frank was a long-time member of the local Radio Club (K4PRR); a member of Great Bridge Masonic Lodge #257 since 1978 and a 32nd degree Mason; and was an avid hunter, fisherman, Tides fan, and supporter of ODU football. He never met a stranger and was loved by many.

A loving son, husband, father, grandfather, left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kay; children, Katie Embry (Tom), Suzanne Kurtich (David), Frank Jr. (Amy), Tracey Edwards (Shea); adoring grandchildren, Will, Hunter, Trey, Trevor, Alex, Samuel, Makayla, and Dylan; brother, David Duvall (Sharon); beloved feline, Sugar; and a host of other family and friends. The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at Sentara Norfolk General and Chesapeake Regional Health for their efforts over the last six months; the much loved the members of Great Bridge Presbyterian Church whose generosity to his spiritual and medical needs is greatly appreciated; and outreach of love from friends and neighbors in the Great Bridge Community.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Great Bridge Presbyterian Church, 333 Cedar Road, Chesapeake with a reception to follow. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his honor to Great Bridge Presbyterian Church.
