Amy Twiford  Jordan
Amy Estelle Jordan, 105 passed away with her family by her side August 15, 2017. Amy was born and raised in East Lake, NC to the late Hassell and Annie Basnight Twiford. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husbands, Henry G. Jordan, Sr. and J. Gurney Jordan; daughters, Louise Lawrence and Julia Haywood; step-son, Jimmy Jordan; sister, Illa Mae Twiford and Bertha Craddock and brothers, Dick and Sylvester Twiford. Amy was a faithful member since 1959 at Raleigh Heights Baptist Church, the Ruth Bible Class, the Helpful Club and the Niners Senior Club of Chesapeake. Amy was an inspiration to us all for her love of the Lord. We take comfort in knowing we will see her again in heaven.

Left to cherish her memory are six generations of her family which include her children, Henry Grandis Jordan (Kathy) and Sandy Hollomon (Frank); 14 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren, one great-great-great grandchild; and her younger brother, Tuni Twiford (Evelyn) of Elizabeth City, NC.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 18, 2107 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Graham Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake. A service to celebrate her life will be held Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor James Thompson and Pastor Jerald Twiford officiating. Following the service, the family invites you to join them for a reception at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at 3 p.m. in a private service at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made to Raleigh Heights Baptist Church, 1000 Crowell Avenue, Chesapeake, VA 23324.
