Condolence: My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Dech family as they deal with the death of Christine. I am so sorry for your loss. I knew her as Chrissy as she and her entire family spent a lot of time at the Cleaver homestead as children. We had many a tractor rides, sleigh rides, and so many games we all played together. I have so many wonderful and fond memories. God Bless you all.

Condolence: Dear John and Kathy, My heart breaks for you both. I read over the wonderful memories and condolences people wrote. What a wonderful person and life Chris lived and shared with her friends and community. I will forever remember the Holy Molely story her students shared. IT was touching and a tribute to Chris and the teacher she was to her students. We are give a walk through in this life and I would certainly say Chris left many footprints and made her community a better place for all.

Condolence: Sincere condolences to the Dech family. So sorry to hear about Chris. There are so many childhood memories... the endless summers riding the tractor around the fields, catching lightning bugs, hide and seek in the corn fields, the winter fun sledding down the hill, the camping excursions all come flooding back. I hope you find solace in the memories and know you are all in my prayers.

Condolence: My Condolence's go out to the family and friends of Christine or "Coach Dech ". She was my high school volleyball coach at Oscar Smith between O4-05 and a great soul. When I moved to the area she immediately recognized my scholastic abilities and ensured I was in her Honors Chemistry class. When I didn't believe in myself, she pushed me. She was a tough teacher, but she never gave up on me. She held a high standard for her players both on the court and in the classroom and I always tried to live up to her expectations. I am grateful to have known Ms. Dech and I know she is at peace. May she and her family have Peace and Healing in this time of grief..

Condolence: Ms. Dech was one of the most amazing teachers I have ever had. I looked up to her as a mentor in both academia and in life. What she did for each of her students went above and beyond what was expected. There is a reason we call her Mama Dech. She took care of us as if we were her own. When I got into NYU her reaction was one of my favorites. You could tell how proud she was of me. It was that personal connection that I cherished all through high school, college, and beyond. She will always be one of my favorite people and I will strive to be like her for the rest of my life. She has left her mark on so many students and in turn, the world will be a better place.

Condolence: I'm so deeply saddened by the loss of Mrs. Dech. My son had the privilege of having her as his IB Chemistry teacher for the last two years, and he missed her very much when she became ill. I nominated her for a Star Teacher award this year, because she was clearly an exceptional educator. She took a personal interest in her students that they appreciated and respected. She made a point to come out for my son's sporting events at school to show her support, and that meant a lot to him. She spent time really talking to parents at open houses, and she was always so encouraging to her students. She was truly an inspiration in the classroom and a lovely person, and I'm sorry that the future students at GRC will not have the honor of her presence there. It will be hard to fill her shoes. She left a lasting legacy with all the students whose lives she touched as an outstanding educator and mentor. I pray that God will provide His comfort and peace to her family who will surely mourn her passing a great deal.

Condolence: As a college senior now, I can only list a handful of teachers who have transformed my attitude on learning, inspiration, and even optimism itself. Ms. Dech taught me all of these values during my three years in her IB chemistry class. Her expertise, professionalism, and ultimately her high level of care and regard for students inspired me to follow in her footsteps and pursue a STEM education. She was more than just an teacher to us; she was a mentor, showing us how to live life to the fullest simply by appreciating those around us and approaching every day and every challenge as a new chance to succeed, be happy, and make new friends. I am certain that everyone else who has had the privilege to meet Ms. Dech is as devastated as I am to hear this news, and I wish her closest friends and family all the best during this tough time.

Condolence: I had the amazing privilege to have Ms. Dech as my IB chemistry teacher in my sophomore year. She was nothing short of a supportive mentor who believed in all of her students. She treated the IB classes like family and was extremely involved- accompanying us on various trips. Her impact on her students and community will never fade and she will be missed immensely.
