Dorothy Parrish Rountree, 86, went home to be with the Lord August 3, 2017. Dorothy was born in Portsmouth to the late Allie James Parrish and Augustus B. Parrish, and was lovingly raised by her step-mom, Eva Glisson Parrish. She was the wife of the late Ralph Rountree. Dorothy was a member of Great Hope Baptist Church, Chesapeake.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, Michael “Sonny” Burns and his wife, Jan; grandchildren, Jennifer Burns (Chad Clark) and Jeremiah Burns (Yulia Burns); and great-grandchildren, Meadow Clark and Gabriel Burns.
The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake on Monday, August 7, 2017 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Rosewood Memorial Park, 631 N Witchduck Rd, Virginia Beach.
