Cornelio Javier Tanega, 72, passed away August 3, 2017. Cornelio was born in Cavite, Philippines to the late Alfonso and Margarita Javier Tanega. He retired from the Philippine Navy and was a member of the Catholic Church of Saint Mark, Virginia Beach.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Iluminada D. Tanega; daughters, Clarita Tanega and Cordelle Appukuttan and her husband, Prashant; son, Leo Alex Tanega and his wife, Donna; grandson, Ram Solomon Appukuttan; 5 sisters and 3 brothers.

The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1112 Kempsville Rd, Chesapeake on Saturday, August 5, 2017 from 4-9 p.m. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. A mass of Christian burial will be held Sunday, August 6, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the Catholic Church of Saint Mark, 1505 Kempsville Road
