I first knew Art from my time in uniform when he was working a civilian at the Atlantic Fleet Public Affairs shop. When I came back to government as a civilian, like a lot of folks, we knew to rely on Art on how to navigate the shoals of being a federal employee and staying true to yourself. We all respected his knowledge, sense of humor and dignity. None finer and the world is less without him in it.
