French Henry "Mac"  McElrath
French Henry “Mac” McElrath, 73, passed away June 27, 2017. Mac was born in Christiansburg, Virginia to the late Milton and Bertha McElrath. Besides his parents he was also predeceased by a sister, Reva June Chase and nephew, William Chase. Mac was a graduate of Giles High School, Pearisburg, VA. Following high school, he graduated from the United States Coast Guard Academy and proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard for the next 22 years. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and retired as a Commander.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kam Ping McElrath; sister, Joyce McElrath Marshall (James); nephew, Timothy Marshall (Alice); step-children, Bessie Dee (Eddie), Petula Moy (Mark), Patrick Wong (Karen), Amy Ollice (Michael) and Dennis Wong; step-grandchildren, Melissa McCombs (Kenny), Anthony Dee (Cristina), Andrew Dee, Alexander Moy (Terri), Stephanie Moy, Patrick C. Wong, Joshua Wong (Lindsey), Brandon Wong, Bryson Wong, Allison Wong; step great-grandchildren, Kiana McCombs and Skylar Dee.

A graveside service to celebrate his life will be held Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk. Please visit www.grahamfuneralhome.com to leave a condolence to the family.
