Condolence: I remember when the Galant family moved into the house next door on Rosebud Lane in Chesapeake VA in 2010. One day the moving van came and they were so busy that I knew the last thing they would be thinking about was what they were going to eat for dinner. After all, unpacking a moving van is exhausting. I went shopping and bought prepared fried chicken with all the trimmings, including dessert and beverages. That was the beginning of a wonderful relationship with the Galants, a good Christian family. Chris and Christine Retel, who moved in shortly after, both attended the Bible Study I held in my home. I moved out of the house in July 2011, but my daughter Joanne and her husband Dave moved in and the friendship between the two families continued. Chris was like a second mother to Joanne and their entire family was family to us, especially helping out with Hadley, born in 2012. Chris will be missed by all of us. We loved her dearly and know that her suffering is over and she will remain in our hearts forever. Rest in Peace Chris.

Condolence: Craig, Erin, Riley and Jake,
Words cannot express the sorrow I feel with the passing of Chris.
What a wonderful giving lady! She loved showing kindness to others especially by fixing delicious food to share. She loved her family and always strived to make great family memories which most of the time encluded a delicious spread of food! She was very proud of her family. And loved you all deeply. To me she was a wonderful friend. It all started with those school parties at Alpine and it just continued to grow from there! I was so blessed by her talents, love and friendship. Our family was touched so many times with her giving spirit and kindness. I will miss her.
You all are in my thoughts and prayers as you go through this difficult time.
Love and prayers,
Jen and Dave
