Obituary for Barbara Lee Byars

Barbara Lee  Byars
Barbara L. Byars, 55, flew up to heaven on the wings of angels on May 30, 2017. She was a loving daughter, sister and #1 Auntie. Barbara was preceded in death by her wonderful parents, Jerry and Bettie Byars.

She is survived by her loving family, Gean, Danny, Alex McCarter; Jerry “Doug”, Jane, Stephen, David, Debbie, Melody, Isaac Byars; Brittney, David, Tucker, Finnick Freeman; Cordie and Janice Glover all of Norfolk, VA; and many extended family and close friends.

Barbara was a Norfolk native and a Computer Specialist with Naval Supply Center and she retired after 36 years of government service. She cherished nothing more than moments spent with God, her family and friends. She had a passion for traveling, Disney and Christmas. Barbara was a member and Sunday School teacher at Brentwood Baptist. She will be missed dearly.

A celebration service of her life will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 11 am at Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake. Her wishes were to be cremated and her ashes placed with her parents. Barbara wanted to thank all of you for the extra prayers and care during her fight with cancer. The family would like to thank and recognize so many family and great friends who took wonderful care of her and us in so many ways. We are so blessed to have so many wonderful people in our lives.
