Florence Almer "Snooks"  Harrell
Florence Almer “Snooks” Bryant Harrell, 86, was born October 4, 1930 in the South Norfolk, VA to the late Elmer L. Bryant, Sr. and Florence Holbrook Layton Bryant. She went to be with her Lord on Monday, March 27, 2017 while in her home under the loving care of her daughters. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband Mark James “Jack” Harrell, Jr. and her brother, Elmer L. Bryant, Jr.

Mrs. Harrell was a long-time member of South Norfolk Baptist Church, served many years as a Sunday school teacher and was active in numerous church activities. She was an avid reader who especially loved reading her Bible and anything Scripture-based. Mrs. Harrell collected many Bible commentaries and read them all cover to cover. She and her husband loved camping and being in nature and she saw God’s hand in all its beauty.

She is survived by her daughters, Ann H. Prescott and her husband, Alan, Sr., and Diane L. Harrell; 3 grandchildren, Anisa Glowczak and her husband, Steve, Amy Lehman and her husband, Eric and Alan Prescott, Jr. and his wife, Shelley; 4 great-grandchildren, Emily Rose Lehman, Alan “Trey” Prescott III, Kyra Ann Glowczak and Callie Dale Prescott; sister, Georgia E. Clasing and her husband, Bernard, and a host of nephews and cousins.

The family wishes to thank the dedicated caregivers of Home Instead and Compassionate Care Hospice for their kindness, compassion, and spiritual support to our mother and our family.

Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, March 29th from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the Graham Funeral Home. A graveside service will be lead by Rev. David Slayton at Rosewood Memorial Park, Virginia Beach at 12:00 noon on Thursday, March 30th. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to South Norfolk Baptist Church, 1101 Chesapeake Avenue, Chesapeake VA 23324.
