Obituary for Calvin Carlyle Moseley Sr.

Calvin Carlyle  Moseley Sr.
Calvin Carlyle Moseley, Sr. went to be with the Lord February 8, 2017 in Chesapeake. Mr. Moseley was a native of Ashville, North Carolina and a longtime resident of Chesapeake, VA and Moyock, NC. He taught at South Norfolk Elementary and Indian River Elementary School before becoming the librarian at Oscar Smith High School for 31 years. During his 37 year tenure he served as the president of the Chesapeake Education Association and served on the Board of Directors of the Virginia Education Association. Mr. Moseley served in the US Army during the Korean War; and was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity, East Tennessee State University. He was member of Pilmoor Memorial United Methodist Church, Currituck, North Carolina, Calvin enjoyed spending time with his family and tinkering in his garage.

Mr. Moseley is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mae Marie Sease Moseley; daughter, Rene’ Moseley Etheridge and husband Owen of Moyock, NC; son, Calvin Carlyle Moseley, Jr. of Chesapeake, VA; daughter, Lisa Maria Moseley Dasen and her husband Stephen of Chesapeake, VA; three grandsons, Andrew Carlyle Moseley, Richard Reid Moseley, Albert Mohan Dasen; and his beloved Italian Greyhounds Juliet and Phoebe

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 13, 2017 at Pilmoor Memorial United Methodist Church in Currituck, North Carolina. Burial will follow at Moyock Memorial Cemetery. His family will receive friends from 4 - 6 p.m. on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund at Pilmoor Memorial United Methodist Church, 192 Courthouse Road, Currituck, North Carolina, 27929.
