Deloris Willis  Pate
Deloris "Red" Willis Pate went to be with the Lord February 4, 2017 at the age of 85. She was the loving wife of the late Alvin Pate of South Norfolk who passed away in 2000. They were married in 1950 and he lovingly gave her the nickname of "Red". Deloris is a member of South Norfolk Congregational Christian Church and served as a Deaconess. She enjoyed playing bridge and joined the Purple Passion Red Hat Society. She received her B. S. Degree in Elementary Education and began teaching first grade at Park Elementary and Georgetown Elementary retiring after 32 years. In 2011 Red moved to Lake Prince Woods Retirement Community in Suffolk and began to attend Suffolk Christian Church.

She is survived by her son, John E. Pate (Suzanne); daughter, Jimme Hollowell (Wayne); grandchildren, Jennifer Pate Finch (Matt), Ryan Pate, Dustin Pate, Marcie Hollowell Cholewinski (Justin), and Brian Hollowell (Shana); step-grandchildren, Lauren Kuharik (Brad) and Monica Peace (Shaun); six great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 from 5:30 to 7p.m. at Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake. A funeral service will be held Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Amos Eby officiating. At the request of the family in lieu of flowers Memorial contributions may be made to South Norfolk Congregational Christian Church, 1030 Jackson Ave, Chesapeake, VA 23324 or Suffolk Christian Church, 216 N Main St, Suffolk, VA 23434.
