Obituary for Peggy Fleeta Futrell

Peggy Fleeta  Futrell
Peggy "Sissy"Futrell on the 25th of January, 2017, cast off the earthly coils of life and went to join her Savior and Lord in paradise. Born August 21, 1936 in North Carolina, she moved with her family to Norfolk in 1945 where she lived for the next 26 years, after which she moved to Chesapeake where she spent the remainder of her life. A 1954 graduate of Maury High School, she started to work in 1955 at Norfolk Naval Supply Center/ Defense Depot, where she worked until she retired in 1993 as a Supervisory Supply Systems Analyst. She loved her family and friends at Woodland Heights Baptist Church where she was a member. Her church family has always been there for her when she needed them. Thanks to all of you. Peggy was a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha for many years and helped in all their philanthropic projects. She was also a member of Cambridge Square Seniors. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert, mother Eula, and sister Sally Thigpen and favorite Aunt Ruth(IT) Lassiter. Left to remember her with love is her brother Robert and his wife, Cynthia, nephew Brad and his wife Leslie Futrell, nieces Melanie Thigpen and her sons Ezekiel and Jared New, and Dana Lamade, her Husband Seth, and her nephew Dietrick and niece Elizabeth, and many friends. She loved all of you. A service to celebrate her life will be held Saturday, January 28 at Woodland Heights Baptist Church at 11a.m. with Pastor Ken Barnes officiating, with a private burial to follow.
