Obituary for Logan Michael McCullough

Logan Michael McCullough
Logan Michael McCullough, of Chesapeake, VA, aged four months, passed away in his daddy’s arms due to complications from a Congenital Heart Defect called Tetralogy of Fallot on Monday, January 9, 2017. He was born Friday, September 9, 2016 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital and spent the first month of his life at Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters (CHKD) and University of Virginia (UVA) Medical Center bravely enduring his first heart surgery. Logan had a glorious 3 months at home with his loving family while he grew stronger awaiting his next open heart surgery in February.
Logan’s infectious smile and bright eyes lit up the room. This Lion Heart loved to purr like a cub as he slept with his right hand laying gently on his face. A snug bug who did not want to miss a thing and just wanted to be safe and warm in your arms. His unexpected passing has been felt far and wide by all that have come to know his story and follow his heart journey.
Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Michael and Crystal McCullough; siblings, Aidan and Miranda; grandparents, Don and Gail McCullough, Maurice Parker and Cathy Jarman, Leon and Sandy Bromley; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and countless family and friends who faithfully supported his courageous battle. His smile will forever live in the hearts of those who held him dear.
A celebration of Logan’s life will be held at Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake, VA 23320 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dalton Stoltz officiating. A reception will follow at the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 9, 110 Kempsville Rd, Chesapeake, Virginia 23320.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at UVA Medical Center, Chesapeake General Hospital, Chesapeake Police and Fire Department who responded so quickly and worked tirelessly to try and save Lil man. The family would also like to thank CHKD and Ronald McDonald House of Charlottesville for all of their care and support. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Mended Little Hearts of Charlottesville, P.O. Box 7481, Charlottesville, VA 22906 so that more awareness and research can help put an end to the number one birth defect of children; Congenital Heart Disease.
