Jeffrey Alan McGrath, 66, of Virginia Beach, VA, the husband of Claudia I. McGrath, died Saturday, December 31, 2016. He was born on June 22, 1950 in Cleveland, OH the son of the late John Edward McGrath and Mary Elizabeth McGrath Livingston.
Jeffrey graduated from Shawnee Mission South High School in KS; Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, CA with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. He worked for NOAA-Engineering Development and at David Taylor Research Center/Naval Surface Weapons Center.
In addition to his wife Claudia, Jeffrey is survived by his son, Alexander Livingston McGrath, (Kelly) from Pasadena, MD; sister, Jan McGrath Carter, (Talbot) from Greenville, SC; cousins Craig, Wil and Steve Faubel; and sister-in-law Marianna Henao de Diaz; mother-in-law Ines Henao; nephews and nieces Danny, Monica and Christina Diaz; and Blitz.. He also had many nieces, nephews and second cousins. Jeffrey could be found spending time with Claudia, his many nieces, nephews and cousins, or on the water.
A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 11am at Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Services 1112 Kempsville Road Chesapeake, VA 23320. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Navy Federal Credit Union at Redmill; 2261 Upton Dr., in Claudia I. McGrath's account.
