Obituary for Colin Shaw Parker Jr.

Colin Shaw Parker, Jr., 76, passed away December 14, 2016. Colin was born in Norfolk, Va to the late Blanche and Colin S. Parker, Sr. He served his country in the United States Army. He was a licensed Insurance agent with various companies before starting his own office and is a member of Kingdom Life Ministries.

He is survived by his loving wife, Viola Parker; children, Terrie M. Parker, Shannon L. Parker Lucas, Patty Medel, Betty Sue Merritt, Joyce Ann Clodfelter, and Jasper Ambrose; grandchildren, Dakoda J. Sturk, Lance Medel, Crystal Cox, Garland Merritt, Warren Schucker, and Don Clodfelter; great-grandchildren, Savannah Kiser, Myles Cox, Logan Cox, Paige Medel, Morgan Merritt, Dawson Clodfelter, Eden Clodfelter, and Paxton Clodfelter.

Colin was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was kind and had a big heart. He loved his wife and family dearly. He loved family gatherings and any time spent with family and friends. Colin also had a great sense of humor and loved to have fun with his children and grandchildren. He was a very faithful and loyal man.

A service to celebrate his life will be held Sunday, December 18, 2016 at 3 p.m. at Kingdom Life Ministries, 1280 Bells Mill Road, Chesapeake with Bishop Randy Wooden and Pastor Tammy Daniels officiating followed by military honors. Following the service there will be a reception in the church cafe where Viola Parker and family will be receiving friends and family.

He will be laid to rest at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens at a later date in a private service with the family. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Sr. Adult Ministries care of Kingdom Life Ministries, PO Box 15514, Chesapeake, VA 23328.
