Shirley Rose DeVary, 85, passed away unexpectedly on December 9, 2016. Shirley was born in Normal, IL to the late Charles and Viola Greene Day. She was a caregiver for 62 years, working as an in-home private care nurse, then as a pediatric nurse, and finishing her career as a Registered Nurse for the Norfolk Surgical Group. Shirley was a caregiver at home as well as a loving mother to her daughters and a doting wife to her husband. Additionally, she loved sewing and gardening.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 64 years, Robert E. DeVary; daughters, Rehia L. Rountree (Ronald), Laura Jo Horn, and Liesl R. DeVary; grandchildren, Jennifer D. Johnson, Jeffrey D. Rountree, and Andrew J. Peterson, II; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Florence Hodge; and a host of other family and friends.

Shirley is in the care of Graham Funeral Home & Cremation Services,1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake. Services and burial will be private.
