Millard King  Stone, Sr.
Millard King Stone, Sr., 77, passed away November 25, 2016. Millard was born in Franklin to the late Cephus K. and Ollie Draper Stone. Besides his parents he was also predeceased by his loving wife, Sandra Stone; brothers, B. F., Stanford and Joe Stone; and great-grandchild, Caroline Voelcker. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy; was a member of Cradock Baptist Church, Portsmouth Moose Lodge #898, Portsmouth Auxiliary Police, Tidewater Automotive Modelers Society. Millard brought many smiles to people of all ages as a Clown and was the creator of the Ricky Cartoon. Millard worked at Desks Inc. for 50 years before retiring from East Coast Transport as an automotive salesman.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Millard "Buster" Stone, Jr. (Norma), Dana Metcalf (Buddy), Joseph Stone (Tina), Cecil Stone (Teri); nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at Cradock Baptist Church, 96 Afton Parkway, Portsmouth, Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dave Phillips officiating.
