Obituary for William Richard Collier

W. Richard Collier, 71, died in his home on July 14, 2016 in Virginia Beach.
Richard was born on August 22, 1944 in Burlington, North Carolina. He graduated from Princess Anne High School and East Carolina University with a degree in Business. Richard was an avid outdoorsman and loved being surrounded by family.
Richard is Survived by his wife, Berry Collier, and their four children and seven grandchildren: son Jim and son-in-law, Stuart Verseman; son, Hunter Collier and future daughter-in-law Kara Wood; daughter Amy Howard and son-in-law Scott Howard; son Chip Collier. The family is thankful for the assistance of his caregiver, Kim.
Richard will be cremated, and a memorial service will take place at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in Richard's name to a charity of your choice or one of the following: COPD Foundation, Va. Beach Rescue Squad Foundation, Chesapeake Bay Foundation, Ducks Unlimited, or American Indian College Fund.
