Obituary for Eslie Warden "Duck" Mallard

Eslie "Duck" Warden Mallard, 89, passed away July 6, 2016. Duck was born in New Bern, NC to the late Eugene and Rosa Cumbo Mallard. He served his country in the United States Army and was a veteran of WWII; he retired from Ford Motor Company and was a member of the United Auto Workers Local #919; as well as a former volunteer with the Chesapeake Fire Department in South Norfolk at Station #1.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 62 years, Margaret K. Mallard; daughters, Debbie Bancroft and her husband, Randy, and Lori Disharoon; three grandchildren, Phillip L. "P.J." Spitler, Jr., Sean Spitler and Katie Curlett; six great-grandchildren; and his twin sister, Elsie Wicker.

A service to celebrate his life will be held Sunday, July 10, 2016 at 3 p.m. with military honors at Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake followed by a reception at the funeral home. His final resting place will be at the Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Alzheimer's Association.
