Charles Keith  "Fluffy"  Minter
Charles Keith “Fluffy” Minter, 66, passed away June 24, 2016. He was born in Danville VA and was the son of Thomas Nelson and Sallie McGuire Minter. Fluffy was a 1968 graduate of Great Bridge High School. He joined the Chesapeake Fire Department and served faithfully for 25 years until his retirement in the mid-nineties. He was a member of the Eagles Club #795 in South Norfolk, and a lifelong member of Debaun Memorial Baptist Church/ Rivercrest Christian Fellowship. Fluffy was a passionate outdoorsman, he also had a love of Bluegrass Music and could be heard playing the tub bass with the Cedar Room Boys every chance he got.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Nancy Carr Minter; two daughters, Joanna White of Chesapeake and Susan Johnson of Alabama; two sons, Travis Minter and his wife, Andrea of Myrtle Beach SC, and Clay Minter and his wife, Melissa of Virginia Beach; seven grandchildren, Nicole Lawrence, Nicholas White, Aaron, Andrew, and Alex Minter, Charlie and Neil Minter; two greatgrandchildren, Brianna Lawrence and Riley Parrish; his sister, Amy Myrick and brother, Bill Minter.
A celebration of life service will be held at Rivercrest Christian Fellowship, 1510 Campostella Road, Chesapeake at 5 p.m. on Sunday June 26, 2016 with Pastor Doyle Wells officiating. The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the http://www.locksoflove.org/ in lieu of flowers.
