Kenneth "Ken" Edward  Elder
CHESAPEAKE- Kenneth “Ken” Edward Elder,71, was called home to be with his Lord unexpectedly, May 9, 2016. He was born in Halifax County, VA to the late Miles and Elise Elder. Ken was a 1967 graduate of Virginia Tech with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration. After retiring, Ken enjoyed driving the school bus for Chesapeake Public Schools. He was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Norfolk where he volunteered much of his time driving the church bus, helping with VBS or anyone that needed anything. Ken was a quiet man with a witty personality who worked with his hands that loved to garden or talk and fix cars. He also faithfully served the homeless for many years. He will be missed by all he knew.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 29 years, Karen B. Elder; children, Chris (Judy), Jason (Ashley), Kimberly (Sean) and Morgan; grandchildren, Caleb, Caden, Emilynne and Aiden; sisters, Barbara Elder and Jeanette Crosswhite (Dean) and numerous other loving family and friends.

A service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, May 13, 2016 at 6pm at First Baptist Church of Norfolk, 312 Kempsville Rd., Norfolk. The family will receive friends following the service. He will be privately laid to rest at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. Please visit his Book of Memories at www.grahamfuneralhome.com where you may leave a note to the family.
