VIRGINIA BEACH- Evelyn Raines Fisher, 85, went to be with her Lord, July 31, 2015. She was born in Trenton, NJ to the late Lacy G. Raines, Sr. and Golden P. Raines. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Lacy G. Raines, Jr. and sister, Delores Moore. Evelyn was a longtime member of Tidewater Central Church of the Nazarene. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family. Through the years, she also opened her home and was a loving mother to 48 foster children.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 65 years, Lewis Webster Fisher; children, Patricia Diane Nelson (Bruce), Michael Lewis Fisher (Lisa), Cynthia Kaye Davis (Robert), Rebecca Jean Huerta (Christopher) and Keith Webster Fisher (Mimi); grandchildren, Ryan, Jason, Lori, Kelly, Matthew, Rebekah, Amber, Zach, Madison and Nina; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Marley, Eli, Reed, Ruby, Caroline, Philippa, Mackenzie and Nora and numerous other loving family and friends.
A service to celebrate her life will be held Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at 1pm at Tidewater Central Church of the Nazarene, Virginia Beach with Rev. William Dillon officiating. Burial will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home, Chesapeake on Tuesday from 6-7:30pm.
