CHESAPEAKE- Mary Frances Hardison, 80, went home to be with her Lord, May 4, 2015. She was born in Lenoir County, NC to the late Jimmie and Tempie Stroud. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years, Norman Lee Hardison, Sr. and her son, Michael. Mary was a loving, kind and considerate person to all she knew. She loved reading, writing, working with her hands and was the best cook in town. Mary was an encourager and caregiver for many. She was also a longtime member at Great Bridge Free Will Baptist Church.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Pam Ivey (Charles) and Tammy Keller; sons, Norman, Jr.(Doris Lynn), Malcolm “Randy” (Lorraine), Anthony “Tony” (Nancy), Joey(Tammy) and Scotty(Sheila); grandchildren, Stephen, Karyn, Dustyn, Randall, Daniel, Lauren, Jake, Adam, Nathan, Amber, Blake, Megan, Matthew and Michael; great-grandchildren, Brianna, Hayleigh, Hunter, Jack, Kam, Genevieve, Arabella, Alyssa, Adison, and Oaklee; sister, Jean Bratten; brother, James Stroud (Barbara) and numerous other loving family and friends.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, May 8, 2015 at 11am at Graham Funeral Home, Chesapeake with Pastor Hal Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6-7:30pm.
