VIRGINIA BEACH- Betty Lou Watson, 85, went to be with her Lord, December 6, 2014. She was born in Oakhill, WV to the late Kenneth and Sadie Mae Blake. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Garnette and Mable and brothers, Kenneth, Jr. and Jack. She was a faithful member of Fairview Baptist Church, Chesapeake where she also enjoyed singing in the choir. Betty was also a charter member of the American Diabetes Association. She was a supportive wife throughout her husband’s military career and his Christian Ministries but most of all, she loved her family.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 66 years, John W. Watson; children, Roger W. Watson (Sondra), Sandra K. Gross (David) and Keith A. Watson; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Clarice Howard; brother, Don Blake and numerous other family and friends.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at 1pm at Fairview Baptist Church with Rev. M. Lee Godfrey officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk. The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home, Chesapeake on Tuesday, from 6-7:30pm.
